Do you like going to the movies? Do you like seeing Diane Lane on the big-screen doing what she does best? Of course you do! Well color me helpful. She has two movies out in theaters as we speak. They are called "Untraceable" and "Jumper." It doesn't matter what they are about. Diane appears in them. Duh.

Oh for Christ's sake, for those of you still unconvinced, here are the trailers:
Diane is such a sweetie

Diane recently cut her beautiful long hair off while on the Today Show recently. She did it to participate in the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign. The campaign donates wigs to women who have been stricken with cancer. So. It's done. No more long-haired Diane. Here is the proof:

Diane later snipped even more off, telling People magazine "I did it just for fun. Just to not be looking like a character I’ve ever played.”

Well played Diane. Well played. I really wanna get my hands on that wig though. I don't want to wear it. Just maybe caress it lovingly for a while before sending it on it's way to help people.
Diane recently gave an interview to Makeherup.com in which she divulged one of her beauty secrets. She uses Shu Uemura Moisture Eye Zone as a secret weapon against fine lines! I knew it! I totally called that one. Why, I was looking at her just the other day and I said “Yeah. That beautiful face that is so free of nasty fine lines, has to be Shu Uemura.” I mean really:

Remember when local radio stations used to play two songs by the same artist on Tuesdays and call it 'Twofer Tuesdays'? Well this is sort of like that, only we aren't on the radio and between you and me it's not even close to Tuesday. Fewfor Friday didn't have the same ring.

Anyway, here are two amazing Diane videos I found on ye olde Internet. The first is her interviewing with David Letterman in 1995. She is there to promote "Judge Dredd" of all things. David seems quite smitten and you'll see why as soon as you click play. She looks gorgeous. The second is a striptease culled from 1987's "The Big Town". Check out the lecherous look on Matt Dillon's face. Can't say I blame him.
For the ladies

Variety reported recently that Diane signed on to star in a new film called "Nights in Rodanthe". It's based on a book with the same name by Nicholas "The Notebook" Sparks. The book's about two unlikely lovers and their lifelong struggle to be together. Yeah, sounds familiar I know. Tears will flow like rain during monsoon season.

Also, as if this film already didn't threaten to quintuple the world's estrogen levels, the male cast reads like a diary entry written by one of my horny aunts. Richard Gere(He still acts?), Christopher Meloni, and James Franco all will probably get their mitts on my Diane at some point during this film.

I'll be there though. I'm a glutton for punishment. I'll bring the kleenex. For crying sickos.

And check out who narrates the audiobook, the mom from "E.T.":
File this in the "Streets of Fire" category: Diane Lane at the tender age of 14 starred in an amazing film called "Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains". Laura Dern and Christine Lahti were also in it, as well as members of the Clash and the Sex Pistols. Well to make a long story short, it was never really released, eventually languishing on late night television throughout the '80s.

Flash forward a couple of decades, and this little film about the all girl punk band that could has achieved quite a cult following. It played outdoors at a swimming pool near my apartment last night! I had to go being as how it isn't even out on DVD yet. It was amazing. Everything a never seen movie about a punk band should be. Here are some videos chronicling the making of the film and the commercial fallout that caused it to never be released. Look for some HOT present day Diane barbs on her experiences:
Diane's marvelous 1984 Streets of Fire finally comes out today on HD-DVD. See my earlier post to watch a delicious clip of a young Diane singing in the picture. This picture is really incredible. I'd describe it but I found a really great write-up about it over there on Laist.com. Here goes nothing:

"

For those who are not fortunate enough to have ever seen this film, it's about a stereotypical 80's badass, Tom Cody (Michael Paré), going after a biker gang, led by Willem Dafoe, to rescue his crazy hot ex-girlfriend (Diane Lane). To add flavor to the plot there is his butch, psychobitch sidekick McCoy (Amy Madigan) and Diane Lane's unlikely present boyfriend, Rick Moranis (I'm not shitting you). And best of all, it's directed by Walter Hill (The Warriors, 48 Hours).

If you want to experience for the first time (or relive) an 80's flick with top notch music (Jim Steinman, Meatloaf), top notch ass-kicking (Paré), top-notch bad guy (Dafoe), and top-notch hotness (Lane), then you NEED to go buy this movie right now, then call your girlfriend/boyfriend up and tell her/him that movie night is on like fuckin Donkey Kong."

Yeah. That about covers it. Get this flick. Even if you don't have a HD-DVD player. I hear those things are so advanced they project right into the air anyways. Here is a picture of young Diane to get you going:
Number nine with a bullet

The Top Sexiest blog, which is(you guessed it) a blog that creates various "top sexiest" lists, recently did a list chronicling the "Top ten sexiest women over 40."

The good news: Diane Lane obviously made the list. The bad news: She came in at number nine. Even worse, number ten is missing. So she may as well just be number ten for all I care. Here is the list:

1. Selma Hayek
2. Halle Berry
3. Heather Locklear
4. Elizabeth Hurley
5. Ashley Judd
6. Shania Twain
7. Demi Moore
8. Jennifer Lopez
9. Diane Lane
10.Who the hell knows

Wait. J Lo is over 40?! Damn I had no idea. If we are talking pop culture relevance then she can stay. Same goes for Halle Berry and Selma Hayek. Demi Moore?! Ashley Judd?! Shania Twain?! Nothing against the trio they can stay on the list. I just am angry they are ahead of our beloved DL. So I have a mission for you all. Go to http://topsexiest.blogspot.com/2007/07/top-10-most-beautiful-woman-over-40.html and post outraged comments. Lets move Diane up that list! Here is a sexy picture to get you motivated:
Diane recently gave an interview in which she issued some advice for all of you young Hollywood hotties out there:

Quote: "There's a persona to being an actress.... That could put anyone into the shrink's office. Especially if you're fifteen, sixteen, eighteen years old going through that; realizing that the job is to have a persona."

She then went on to say she identified with the troubles with fame that today's young starlets have to deal with. Kind of warms my heart. Speaking of heartwarming, read this short bio of the lady who wrote "Must Love Dogs" which Miss Lane stars in: http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070715/LIFE/707150301/1005
Speaking of warming other parts of the anatomy, here is a picture of Diane in a really really hot dress:
Star Wars Prequel reunion?

Diane Lane was thankfully not in those trainwrecks, but she is filming a sci-fi film now with both Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson. You may remember Hayden as the brooding, boring teenaged Anakin Skywalker. You remember Samuel L. Jackson as the brooding, boring Jedi knight Mace Windu.

The movie is called "Jumper" and the plot involves Hayden developing an ability to jump through time. He uses this ability to try to save the life of his long-dead mother, played by Lane. I'm willing to give this film the benefit of the doubt because George Lucas has nothing to do with it, and whoever casts Diane Lane in anything has to at least have some kind of a head on their shoulders.

Here is a pic of the book the movie is based on:
